Arranging property viewings

BuyingEstate Agents

When you are searching for a house, it is definitely worth arranging property viewings of any property that meets your requirements.

It is worth being aware of the current market conditions in your local area when arranging property viewings. In buoyant markets, viewings can become fully booked within days (or even hours!) of the property being listed. Which is why we always recommend signing up to a local estate agent. It is therefore worth acting quickly; remember viewing a property does not obligate you to buy it. If you like the look of somewhere, call the agents and arrange a booking.

You may find yourself surprised that the properties that appear to meet all your requirements on paper, turn out to be less than ideal when you view them in person. Conversely some properties that you may be unsure about, could turn out to be your perfect property. It is always worth viewing in person, and it’s best to view with any other people you are buying with to make sure you are both agreed on the potential purchase.

Remember though that your viewing time will be limited depending on the market conditions. It has even been known for properties to have an ‘open house’ where multiple parties view throughout the day. None of this is ideal for identifying any major issues with the property. This is why we recommend you instruct a survey of the property to ensure you know exactly what you’re buying.
